As we grow older we practice our smiles; In front of the mirror on a glum Monday morning, or on our phones for selfies with our friends and then of course, the odd shop front window. The reason we practice is because we have worked so hard to hide and control this natural reaction. We hesitate to smile at something or someone on the street. We hide our smiles because we don’t want to seem too friendly and approachable. We hide our smiles so we can be less predictable.
When I saw Bennett’s show stopper smile it wasn’t because I was pointing a camera at his face but because his parents were acting goofy. He was smiling because his granny was jumping up and down with his favorite kitty. He was smiling simply because he was happy. Keep smiling Bennett whole heartedly, unposed and unpracticed, because everyone will be watching and smiling 🙂
