As I waited for my photo shoot to commence I wondered why the cherry blossom is so famous. If you haven’t spent time under a cherry blossom tree then I highly recommend, next spring, that you do. The flowers are exquisite and some people travel many miles to catch them at their full bloom. They are some of the prettiest flowers I have ever seen; and when you see them in a beautiful line in full bloom you wonder if you will ever see anything so beautiful again. Each year the petals fall, the tree survives the cold harsh winter and blooms when the time is just right. Change for the tree is inevitable. So all we can do is enjoy the pretty pink blooms for just a small moment.
One year on from our last photo shoot together, its even more apparent that Zafira, in her pink owl shoes, is the prettiest flower on Roosevelt Island. Happy and cheerful in all her moments!
